Party Crasher Punched in Face, Hospitalized

The victim suffers a broken jaw when the host of a party attacks him for failing to pay a cover charge.

A man was punched in the face and hospitalized for failing to pay a cover charge at a Temecula party today.

The attack happened around 1:30 a.m. as the victim left a house in the 43000 block of Calle Ventura, said sheriff's Sgt. Chris Gaskins.

The host of the party, Cody Salinas, 19, allegedly confronted the victim as he left the party and demanded he pay the cover charge.

The victim said he had no money, so the assailant punched him, breaking his jaw, the sergeant said.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, and Salinas was arrested and booked at the Southwest Detention Center for felony battery.

He was released a few hours later on $50,000 bail, according to jail records.
