Police arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of attempted murder early Saturday morning, after responding to an accidental shooting call in the unincorporated area of Temecula, according to officials.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 31700 block of Umbria Lane shortly after 4 a.m. during a party with about 10 people. The suspect, Shawn Steward, had an argument with the female victim at the residence and she was shot once, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening, McDonald said.
