Three people were arrested in Temecula Saturday night on suspicion of cocaine, police are reporting.

The incident was reported at approximately 10 p.m. as officers from the Temecula Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team were on routine patrol in an alleyway of businesses located in the 27700 block of Jefferson Avenue, according to a report from sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Gaskins.

The officers spotted a vehicle parked in the alley that contained three occupants. Two people were in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and a third subject was under the influence of a controlled substance, Gaskins alleged in his report.

The following arrests were made, according to the sergeant’s report:
  • Angelo Manos, 29, of San Diego was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • David Mongillo, 50, of Connecticut was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine.
  • Shelly Tack, 48, of Temecula was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Can we end the 'war on drugs' policy? It's been one huge, and expensive, failure...
Brenda December 15, 2013 at 02:49 PM
AAron, I never thought that making it legal was a good idea, EVER. Thought it would just leave it more open for young kids to get ahold of it. But last night I watched a channel, watch it often, on drugs and is called Drugs, Inc. It was showing the start of legalizing pot in Colorado and the difference in the drug trade or lack of it. The drug lords, evidently there are 3 that pretty much control Colorado and ship to other states said it put a huge dent in their sales but then they just had to push more of the stronger drugs and lower their prices like heroin, ecstasy, meth etc. So over all it did pretty much halt the sales of illegal pot but increased the harder stuff because of lowering those prices to get customers. I have always believed pot should be available for medical patients without a doubt and California needs to get the laws of who and who and them all figured out so pharmacies and patients are not harrassed and arrested constantly because the left doesnt agree on what the right is doing. I think alot differently now after watching this show last night and do think we need to legalize it all except for huge transports of it the police can still get ahold of. It needs to be regulated like the Pot is in Colorado if that is being regulated, LOL, from what I saw last night. The price of the pot is so much lower for the medical patients who need it where ours here in California are paying a fortune for it. Which alot of them cannot even afford. Big issue is we will have alot more dead people overdosing if they continue to buy it on the streets. The harder drugs that is. The legalization of the harder drugs is definately a tough call. But I certainly like the idea of stopping DRUG money and these rich azz Drug Bosses.

JJ Mclure December 16, 2013 at 12:34 PM
there will always be a black market because people will avoid taxes by getting it from the street dealer and then we're back to the same thing....turf shootings, etc.

Brenda it is rather selfish of you to comment on every article, your thoughts and opinions just are not very interesting. So do the community a favor and keep the comments to maybe one article per day. Seriously, you're a blow hard, a lot of hot air comes from your mouth. It is seldom do your comments make sense, they are usually weak opinions and simple minded thoughts, I like what you say about the drunks that drive, just keep the comments to an article per day Brenda. Brenda + JJ= Same Guy?
Brenda December 16, 2013 at 01:50 PM
JJ, that is the thing right? The god awful taxes, like gas, cigarettes. Its a wonder we dont get charged extra for vacations, hotels.......oh WAIT WE DO dont we? All those "sur" charges, and automatic 20% crap.

Man, lighten up Francis (i.e. Karate Kid). Crack open a cold one and just relax.
Brenda December 16, 2013 at 02:28 PM
Karate, hey our family is Taekwondo!! Husband was, not sure if you ever lose it, a 3rd degree black belt and our half a dozen daughters ended at one color or another. Not enough time once they all started college and "Life and growing up". I do NOT comment on every article in "Patch" go back and look, count? People comment on things they are passionate about and many here could tell you I will write a book on a few topics, drugs, DUI's, our wreckless drivers in Temecula and surrounding areas, crimes of all kinds, but some I am more passionate about when there is a victim injury or death and some of people I have known.(because if you kept up on that you would know the last two years we have doubled if not tripled by the next report). I do not get into high school news anymore since all our kids are long gone out of there now, but I do still read them. If there is an article on a school needing donations being taken for something I take notice. Donations for needy are also important or a family who has suffered a death or serious injury and need help while they are off work, or for whatever reason. Gathered up all 2 yrs of some warm clothing to donate just before Thanksgiving, an extra turkey and canned goods. I have a friend who with all her energy made 20 turkeys and alot of fixing, and then others who also donate time or goods. It feels wonderful to share or read news on who needs what and where. I also have heard of a few folks going down to the river beds where we have some teenagers now who camp out down there, being kicked out, with drug problems they dont get help with, and they deliver food and warm clothes. If I wasn't disabled I would help so much more :/ as I feel horrible not being able to cook up 20 turkeys or anything more. I love my community Karate and if we could get a leash on all these horrible drivers who are literally running people over I would go back to feeling secure while driving. Ahhhh!! Crime and DUI's are going to need some more officers and more special details to combat those and I can only hope our City and PD are constantly working on ways to get a grip on it and the raising crime. Other then those items Karate, you will not see me comment usually. So just skip right over me and ignore me. Good Lord no one said you need to read all the comments I type, nor do you have to agree with my opinions. And if it makes you feel better to just come to a comments area and call me names then have at it, but try also to leave a comment on the actual article with your own feedback and thoughts. Happy Holidays Karate. PS: No I am not JJ, but I love him for his straight out honesty in very few words!! I wish I could say it all in 3 words, LOL. But I am a 50+ yr old Grandma, truly. This is my only name on Patch and the only one I have ever used. LOL, and thank you Steve ;) I really do try to make shorter posts on an article and try to answer to alot in just one instead of 5. I will try a bit harder.

Steve Newman/John Smith...finally you "two" have consolidated into one username......the editor never responded to your post requesting that the patch disclose their privacy guidelines......hmmm.......oh well, back to Lowes security you go.
Brenda December 16, 2013 at 08:15 PM
Joe? Ya know I read this statement of yours and wonder wtheck is your problem that something like a name could bother you so much to post this here like its big news and it matters to anyone?? Seriously, I hardly even notice it and its not even something I will remember tomorrow, but I will remember the article and the topic and that we got a bit of drugs off the streets. Don't you know no one cares about this other jibberish you write? We care about your opinion on the article, drugs, so try to stay on topic ok? Thank you and hell you might have something good to contribute.

Brenda December 16, 2013 at 11:35 PM

iammisspatty December 17, 2013 at 01:41 AM
Omg, I am still laughing at what Steve Newman asked and was saying to Karate Kid! "Are you the Patch Police?" "Go give yourself a roundhouse kick and leave." Oh man too funny~good one!
Brenda December 17, 2013 at 06:08 PM
LOL iammisspatty. Steve does have some cute comebacks occassionally. Always the gentleman too trying to defend me when some oddball makes a name and starts to harrass me. Must be cause I am so young, gorgeous and loveable that I get these stalkers. Steve will get on and have a nice quippy note to give them. LOL Steve, Darling by the way if you worked at Lowes I could actually walk or drive my wheelchair down to see you!!! Dont they sell hot dogs out front Mr. Cheap date? Hehehehe. Why do we even bother trying to talk sense into someone like Karate or Joe huh Steve? Its no use as they will follow us around for a week or so, maybe longer and then just poof disappear to reappear a few months later with a new name. All such a waste of time when the article is a good one that we got some dang drugs out of circulation no matter how small of an amount.!!
joe scalero December 18, 2013 at 02:00 PM
Newman from Seinfield? You're accusing someone of using two different identities to post??? The Patch has already verified that you and John Smith are the same person...quite the hypocrite...it's also confirmed you are a security guard at Lowes....now please go away and come back as a more friendly, 3rd alias.
Brenda December 18, 2013 at 04:03 PM
Oh geesh, Joe you come back when you would like to contribute to a article here on the "Patch" instead of stalking people and writing alot of mish mosh no one is even interested in!! Believe me, I contribute and write too long of comments on my thoughts and feelings about an article and people just skip over me, LOL. So skip on out less you have a contribution or thoughts and feelings about this article or others that affect our City. "Steve Newman" contributes extensively and with knowledge of the topics and that is all that matters bucko.
joe scalero December 18, 2013 at 06:54 PM
Brenda....I can't do that...

joe scalero December 19, 2013 at 07:01 PM
I shop at Lowes occasionally; what time is your next shift?
Brenda December 19, 2013 at 11:35 PM
Steve, lordie lordie does "The Patch" know what these guys are doing to you on here? Why would "The Patch" know personal information on any commentor? And if they do, why would they share it with some bimbo internet stalker? These guys are insane and not only is cease and desist in order but civilly hold everyone responsible for this bunch of crap. It is definately no within the realm of "What are your thoughts and concerns with this story".
Brenda December 20, 2013 at 04:24 PM
Thank you Steve! Also a Wonderful Holiday to you and yours. Yeppers he got home yesterday and doesnt go back to work till after the New Year. I am a happy camper :) I have had many on here I have had to ignore and now dont even try to reason with them as much I used to. Not worth my time and I am here to give my thoughts on an article, just like anyone else should be doing. Have a good one my friend.
