Police Name Suspected DUI Driver Who Allegedly Caused Injury Crash In Temecula

The two-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday at Rancho California Road and Meadows Parkway.

The identification has been released of a man suspected in a DUI crash that left several people injured in Temecula Sunday night.

Matthew Ustupski, 21, of Temecula was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in injuries following the crash at Rancho California Road and Meadows Parkway, according to a report from the Temecula Police Department.

The two-vehicle crash at the intersection, reported at approximately 9 p.m., involved a white Toyota truck piloted by Ustupski and a silver Kia driven by female who was the lone occupant.

Police allege Ustupski failed to stop on a red light and collided with the Kia in the intersection.

The female driver sustained major injuries, according to the police report.

Ustupski was traveling with two passengers, the report continued. One passenger sustained major injuries while the other suffered moderate injuries, according to a report from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Mark Annas.

All were transported to a local hospital.

According to jail records, Ustupski is being held on $90,000 bail and is due to appear in court Dec. 4.
