Temecula police are looking for a domestic violence suspect who was allegedly stabbed by his victim before he escaped capture by authorities.
David Silva, 23, eluded police late Sunday afternoon after he allegedly held a woman against her will and assaulted her in the 36000 block of Samantha Lane in Temecula.
“During an argument, Silva physically assaulted and brandished a knife at the victim,” according to Sgt. Jon Wade of the Temecula Police Department.
Silva ordered the woman, at knifepoint, to pack some clothes and leave with him … , the sergeant continued.
Silva then ordered the woman into a vehicle inside a detached garage, but during a scuffle she was able to grab the knife, stab her captor, and escape.
The woman, whose identity is not being released by authorities, called 911 and hid until police arrived.
Silva, meanwhile, fled on foot and is still at large, Wade said.
"The investigation is ongoing and a search for the suspect is continuing," he said.
A suspect description has not been released by authorities.
