Pot Dispensary Owner Heads for Jail

He admits to violating parole and turns himself in to serve jail time.

The head of a marijuana dispensary agreed today to serve jail time for violating probation.

Beau Benjamin Attride, 45, who ran Closed Circuit Collective, a marijuana dispensary on Jefferson Avenue, admitted last month to violating probation.

He agreed to serve 97 days in jail during a hearing today at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley.

Attride’s attorney asked the judge to grant him some time before beginning his jail sentence because he is in litigation over custody of his three-year-old son.

Judge Kelly Hansen granted the request and slated him to begin his sentence on Aug. 15.

Serving jail time rather than extending a work release program was the best thing to do, the judge told Attride. "It's a wise move. It get's it off your back," he said.

Attride was serving jail time on the weekends during the program, according to court records. "I've been on the wrong track," he told the judge.

Investigators raided the business to gather evidence of the assault. During the raid, a large dog was killed when it lunged for a deputy. To read about the operation,

Attride matched a description the victim gave of the suspect. Investigators tried to contact him for questioning, but were unable in the few days after the search.

Whether investigators were still trying to find Attride for questioning was unavailable today, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Deputy Angel Ramos.
