Public Urinator Fires at Security Guards

The man shot several rounds at guards when they interrupted his urinating in a shopping center's driveway.

 

A man suspected of shooting at two security guards outside a Temecula shopping center when they disrupted his urinating remained at large today.

The attack happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 33000 block of Temecula Parkway, near Butterfield Stage Road, where two shopping complexes are located.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle parked in the driveway of a business, and a man stepped out and began urinating.

Sheriff's officials said another man also got out of the car and noticed two security officers observing the scene, prompting him to shout profanities.

"At that point, the first male passenger stopped urinating in the driveway, pulled out a firearm and fired several shots in the direction of the security guards,'' according to a sheriff's statement. "Both victims dropped to the ground and were uninjured during the incident.''

The two suspects jumped back into the car, and the female driver sped away, sheriff's officials said.

The shooter was described as white or Hispanic, tall, in his mid 20s and wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt. His accomplice was described as white or Hispanic, short, wearing dark-colored clothing. The driver also was white or Hispanic, wearing dark clothes.

The vehicle was described as an older model two-door silver sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla.
