A person was allegedly robbed at gunpoint near a Temecula ATM, and police investigators are trying to track down the suspect.
The incident reportedly happened at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday near the Navy Federal Credit Union at 39826 Winchester Road, Temecula police Sgt. Bill Pratt confirmed.
The victim had just withdrawn money from the ATM at the bank when they were approached by a suspect wearing dark clothing and described as African American, according to Pratt.
The suspect allegedly brandished a silver-colored handgun while demanding the cash from the victim, the sergeant said.
After successfully taking $80 in cash, the suspect then drove off in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Ford, that had tinted windows.
The suspect was further described as about 6 feet tall with a medium build.
Temecula police investigators are working to obtain surveillance video from the credit union and neighboring businesses in an effort to identify the suspect and/or the vehicle driven, Pratt said.
Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to contact Investigator Shaffer at the Temecula Police Department at 951-696-3000.
