School Signs Stolen, Two Arrested

The men were allegedly caught with the signs after running from deputies, an official says.

Two men were arrested today on suspicion of stealing signs from Temecula Middle School.

Temecula resident Bret Jacobson and Arcata resident Kristopher Riegle, both 20 years old, were arrested around 1:20 a.m. near the school in the 42000 block of Meadows Parkway.

Deputies saw the men enter the campus on bicycles wearing backpacks, said sheriff's Sgt. Chris Gaskins.

The deputies then confronted the suspects at the front of the school, but they ran away, the sergeant said.

The deputies chased them down, found them with the metal signs that seemingly came from the school and arrested them, according to Gaskins.
