Six Arrested at Temecula DUI Checkpoint— But Not for Driving Under the Influence

Results are in from one of the local DUI checkpoints that was held on Saturday.

Six drivers were arrested at one of two DUI/Driver's License checkpoints in the Temecula area this weekend, police announced Sunday.

The DUI stop was conducted from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Pechanga and Temecula parkways, according to the Temecula police.

Six motorists were arrested for driving without licenses. No drivers were detained for driving under the influence and no vehicles were impounded, according to police.

A second DUI operation was held in the unincorporated area of town on the same night, hosted by the California Highway Patrol.  Results from that operation are not yet available, but Patch will post the information as soon we receive it. 

The Pechanga/ Temecula parkway checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, police said.
