Temecula Bank Robbed, Suspect Makes Off With Cash

Police are now looking for the man responsible for the crime.

Temecula police are searching for a man who robbed a local bank this week, they said Tuesday.

The robbery happened around 12:23 p.m. Monday, at the U.S. Bank in the 31000 block of Temecula Parkway, near  Margarita Road, according to Sgt. Curt Harris.

Harris said a man between the age of 55 and 60, walked into the bank, and "demanded money from a teller."  No weapon was reported.

"The teller complied with the suspect and passed him an undisclosed amount of cash, which he immediately grabbed and fled from the bank on foot," Harris said.

The man was last seen headed west, towards Margarita Road, he said.

"Temecula Police officers, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies and Murrieta Police officers searched the area for the suspect, but he was not located," according to Harris.

The suspect is described as a while man, with a "salt and pepper" mustache, and similar hair.  He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a button-down shirt or jacket, and light-colored Dockers pants and loafers, according to police.

Anyone who may have information in the case was asked to contact the Temecula Police Department at (951) 696-3000.
