Temecula Chiropractor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Patients

Police allege there may be more victims out there and are asking them to come forward.

A chiropractor who has offices in Temecula and Hemet and is accused of sexually assaulting patients was free on bail Wednesday, after having been arrested a day earlier.

Dr. Jeffrey Marrs was taken into custody at his Hemet office at around 11 a.m. Tuesday "after a nearly month long investigation into reported illegal activities," according to Hemet Police Lt. Duane Wisehart.

Marrs, 46, was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony charges of penetration with a foreign object and sexual battery on a restrained party, according to Wisehart and jail records.

Jail records also indicate the doctor posted his $500,000 bond on Wednesday, and was released from Southwest Detention Center near Murrieta.

He was taken into custody without incident at his office, Lifestyle Chiropractic & Wellness, 2091 W. Florida Ave.

Though Marrs was booked on three charges of sexual battery on a restrained party, police believe there may be more victims out there.

"The offenses were reported to have occurred at Dr. Marrs’ place of business and there is more than one victim," Wisehart said.  "It is believed there may be other victims of Dr. Marrs’ criminal activity, and anyone who has more information or possibly feels they may be a victim is urged to contact Detective McNish at the Hemet Police Department, 951-765-2422."

Marrs' Temecula office is located at 41593 Winchester Road, according to the website for his business.

His online bio states that he's a Hemet/San Jacinto Valley native and enjoys sports and family time.

Jeff was my chiropactor about 10 years ago..and also a school mate from 2nd grade through highschool. When I went to his office in Hemet..he was very professional. The other employees in the office were always around. I have a hard time believing this..and if it is true..it could have been consensual. Also he never once used any kind of restraints..that part baffles me. I truly hope this isn't true.

Brenda, I like your intuition!! Exactly, the questions anyone should have becuase this guy is a Saint. I will never believe Dr. Marrs had anything to do with this. There are not many absolutes out there, but I would stand up for Dr. Marrs. There is something really wrong with this so called case. First off, I believe people need to rally around a citizen of this whole Valley, like Dr. Marrs. I have been a patient and there is no way this happened at all! It is first off not him, but secondly his offices are full of staff and patients. This is one of the sadest things I have ever seen in my life! Dr. Marrs staff and Family work so hard and contribute so much the many parts of the Valley. You are all in my thoughts and it will change soon for you. I can feel it!! Is this a smear campaign or a total set-up? Hold your head up high and be strong Dr. Marrs!!

I worked with Dr. Marrs for a few years, and am shocked by these allegations. He is a devoted family man with a beautiful wife and lovely children, active in his church and community. I accused him of being a Ned Flanders clone (The Simpsons). Although very conservative (in my view), we had many discussions on politics and religion,, and I cannot believe he is capable of such behavior.

Stanley is this article personal? Because you seem to be very offended and make comments that suggest a personal attack on your assumption of a stereo type that doesn't need a police officer to protect him. I agree with all of you when you say this article sounds strange. Brenda hit it on the nail 100%. It's always best to come up with your own conclusion, and so what if someone comes along and has a different opinion. That's the choice we all have, and it's foolish to sit there and say " well it must be true if its in the news", or I trust the decisions of my police. :-/ I hope this doctor is able to prove himself if he is innocent

There is no way this is true!!! This is an outright, deliberate campaign of vilification! I am a female patient of Dr. Marrs' Hemet practice, and he has never been anything other than a perfect gentleman! I have observed him with many patients. Anyone, without alterior motives to smear his name, would tell you he goes out of his way to put his patients at ease! He is very friendly and personable, always respectful and very open about his conservative Christian values. Its obvious that is the real reason he has been targeted by this outrageous attack witch goes against every part of his character! The area in his office where he treats his patients is completely open with several tables where everyone can see each other. It is also %100 open to the office personel (one of witch happens to be his wife!). There are no restraints, the very idea is ridiculous! What a huge tragedy this is! All who believe in truth and justice should be appalled and stand up in defence of this pillar of our community!
