According to detectives, the men admitted to planning and following through with the burglaries.

A security guard at the Target spotted Bassir talking on a phone in the store on surveillance footage and identified him as a suspect from a theft of over $1200 of electronics that occurred last week, Gomez said.

The guard also noticed Alonso talking on a phone in the parking lot, allegedly acting as a look out, the sergeant said.

The store’s security called 911 and a responding officer reviewed the tape. He determined that the men were working together to commit a burglary, Gomez said.

Bassir and Alonso were taken into custody.

A search of their vehicle revealed nearly all of the stolen electronics taken in the previous burglary, the sergeant said.

The other stolen items were found at the suspects’ homes
