Temecula Man Arrested After Standoff

Aaron Graves allegedly assaulted his mother and 10-year-old brother.

A Temecula man was arrested Monday evening after a standoff with police, authorities announced Tuesday.

Aaron Graves, 29, allegedly assaulted his mother and 10-year-old brother with a hammer and wrench, said authorities who responded to an emergency call around 6:10 p.m. Monday.

Graves reportedly barricaded himself inside a home on the 31100 block of Tecumseh Court, and threatened to physically assault anybody who approached him. Officers deployed a department-trained K-9 to subdue Graves after attempts to use a Taser or Pepper Ball device failed. When he engaged the K-9, officers quickly subdued Graves and placed him in handcuffs, according to authorities.
