A Temecula man was arrested Monday evening after a standoff with police, authorities announced Tuesday.
Aaron Graves, 29, allegedly assaulted his mother and 10-year-old brother with a hammer and wrench, said authorities who responded to an emergency call around 6:10 p.m. Monday.
Graves reportedly barricaded himself inside a home on the 31100 block of Tecumseh Court, and threatened to physically assault anybody who approached him. Officers deployed a department-trained K-9 to subdue Graves after attempts to use a Taser or Pepper Ball device failed. When he engaged the K-9, officers quickly subdued Graves and placed him in handcuffs, according to authorities.
Authorities said Graves was under the influence of a controlled substance. His mother and young brother were treated by paramedics at the scene, but their injuries were minor. Graves was treated and released from a local hospital and booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
Two officers also suffered minor injuries during the incident.
