A hit-and-run on Highway 215 left a Temecula man dead today.
The victim, Douglas O’Husky, 53, was driving his red Hyundai Accent north in the middle lane just south of Newport Road at 2:30 a.m. when another vehicle traveling in the same direction hit the left rear of his car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
O’Husky lost control of his car, which crashed onto the right shoulder, started flipping and plowed through a chain-link fence, said CHP officer Nathan Baer.
O’Husky, who was wearing no seatbelt, flew out of the car and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect sped away northbound on the freeway. Investigators asked witnesses to call the CHP’s Temecula office at 951-506-2000.
