Temecula Toddler Hospitalized in Near Drowning

Fire officials said the boy was in serious condition when he was hospitalized this weekend.

A 2-year-old boy was alive but suffered serious injuries after he nearly drowned at residential swimming pool in Temecula, authorities said this weekend.

Firefighters were dispatched at 3:41 p.m. Saturday to the 43100 block of Vista Del Rancho about the incident.

A relative had yanked the toddler out of the water and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him by the time firefighters arrived, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
