Shirley Corrales, 20, was reported unresponsive at about 3:12 p.m. Friday in the 44000 block of Calle Hilario in Temecula. Emergency personnel were not able to revive her.

Temecula police are investigating the death Friday of a 20-year-old woman as suspicious.

They also have a person of interest in the case that first came to their attention at 3:12 p.m. Friday when a caller reported an unresponsive woman at a residence in the 44000 block of Calle Hilario in the Vail Ranch area of Temecula.

“The reporting party attempted CPR; however, the female never regained consciousness and was pronounced deceased by responding officers and paramedics,” Temecula police Sgt. Jim Erickson stated in a news release issued Saturday afternoon.

They identified another resident of the house, 26-year-old parolee Edgar Silva, as a person of interest, Erickson said, but were not immediately able to locate him.

Silva—wanted on a felony warrant for violating state parole—was located at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday, allegedly hiding in a nearby backyard, Erickson said.

“One investigator and one officer with a law enforcement canine responded to the area and found Silva hiding,” Erickson said. “Silva was taken into custody by the officers and the canine. Silva was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical treatment and will be booked on the parole hold.”

Authorities were continuing their investigation into Corrales’ death, and released no further details.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Investigator Alfaro at the Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3500.
