Head-on Collision Closes Rancho California Road

A semi truck and a minivan hit head-on, according to CHP reports.

At least one person has suffered major injuries in a head-on collision in unincorporated Temecula.

The crash was reported at 4:28 p.m. at Rancho California Road and Camino Seco, west of Interstate 15, according the California Highway Patrol.

One person was trapped in the mini-van, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire.

Paramedics extricated the person out of the vehicle, and the patient was en route to an area hospital for treatement of major injuries as of 5:10 p.m., according to the fire department.

The roadway was closed to motorists heading east from De Luz for an undetermined amount of time.
