A two-vehicle collision in Temecula Thursday injured two people, one of whom had to be extricated, fire officials said.
The crash involving a silver Honda and a red Mustang on Rancho Vista and Ynez roads was reported shortly before 8:40 p.m., according to Cal Fire information officer Jody Hagemann.
The Mustang landed about 300 feet to the north of the intersection on Ynez and ended up on its side with the driver's side against the pavement.
Its driver, a woman, was partially ejected and had to be extricated.
Two people were taken to hospitals, one of them in critical condition, the other with minor injuries, Hagemann said.
According to sheriff's officials, her injuries, though serious, were not life-threatening.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
