UPDATE: Nobody Hurt in Car-to-Car Shooting

Neighbors reported sheriff's investigators found evidence in bushes near the incident.

Nobody was hurt in a car-to-car shooting today, a sheriff's official said.

The sheriff's department got calls about shots being fired and tires squealing around the areas of Romero Drive and Silky Pass in Redhawk at 12:22 a.m. today, according to sheriff's Deputy Angel Ramos.

Officials released little new information besides confirming nobody was hurt in the incident.

"Officers arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and discovered that nobody was injured," Ramos said. "The case is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time."

Investigators were combing through a hedgerow for evidence on Lauriano Drive in the early hours of this morning, said Suzy Erikson, who lives near the scene of the shooting.

She saw investigators take something from the bushes and put it in an evidence bag. "It makes me sick to think, what if one of the kids found those (items of evidence)?" Erikson said. "It hits too close to home. If there are drug dealers or something in the neighborhood, I hope they get their (butts) out of here."
