UPDATE: Honda Rearends Honda, 2 Hurt, Extrication Involved, in Winchester

The crash was reported on Winchester Road, near Simpson Road, at 2:44 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Update 10:20 p.m.:

A Honda slowing to make a turn was rearended by a newer model Honda Accord Saturday, causing minor injuries to the passengers in the first car, a California Highway Patrol sergeant told Patch.

A maroon Honda had just slowed outside of Winchester Farms orchard when the driver of the Accord slammed her car into it, according to CHP Sgt. Randy Costelow.

The driver of the Accord -- a woman -- apparently did not notice that the car ahead of her had stopped, Costelow told Patch.


Two people were injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Winchester, Cal Fire reported.

The crash occurred on Winchester Road, near Simpson Road, at 2:44 p.m., according to Cal Fire's Jody Hagemann.

Firefighters had to extricate at least one person, Hagemann said.

The injured parties were taken by ambulance to area hospitals, where condition reports were not available.

I still don't understand how you cannot see a 3500 lb object stopped directly in front of you...unless you're texting..carelessly yapping on the phone...putting on eyeliner...etc. hopefully nobody seriously hurt. But also hope that woman's insurance goes through the roof to the point she doesn't drive . I can dream can't I ?

The title and first sentence make it sound like these cars were driving themselves. Cars don't hit other cars -- drivers of cars hit other cars and often when the driver is not paying attention.
