Walmart Bomb Declared Harmless

At about 7:15 p.m., a caller phoned in a bomb threat to the Walmart store on Temecula Parkway.

A bomb scare Saturday night at the Walmart store in Temecula Saturday night turned out to be a shoebox that was blown apart by a high-powered water cannon and no threats were found inside the shop, authorities said.

Bomb experts were called to a Walmart Super Center story on Temecula Parkway Saturday night to investigate

Walmart employees left the building and evacuated the site, while sheriff's deputies quarantined the area and called in bomb experts.

A shoe box was found sitting outside the building and a robot was brought in to render the box harmless by exploding it with a .

Once the box was blown up, deputies entered the store with bomb-sniffing dogs and determined the site to be safe.

Investigators are working to find and prosecute the caller, sheriff's deputies said.
