A Murrieta woman suspected of leaving the scene after causing injuries to a pregnant woman while driving drunk in Temecula was out on $75,000 bail Friday.
Sonia Gonzalez, 44, was booked on suspicion of hit-and-run with injury, as well as DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
She was released on bail Thursday and was ordered back to court Dec. 19.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Nathan Baer, the crash occurred on the northbound Interstate 15, coming from eastbound Rancho California Road, about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect was driving a Cadillac Escalade and when the SUV drove up on a Pontiac G6 stopped for traffic in a far right lane, the Escalade rearended the Pontiac, sending it into a pickup truck, Baer told Patch.
The driver of the car is seven months pregnant, Baer said.
When the Escalade left the scene, the driver of the pickup followed it to a gas station near a grocery store on Margarita and Winchester roads, Baer said.
"The driver of the truck detained the driver @ Winn Co. until CHP arrival," Baer told Patch.
