Woman Caught with $116,800 Worth of Meth

Border patrol agents found four big packages hidden in her purse.

A woman faced charges today of trying to smuggle $116,800 worth of methamphetamine from Mexico into the U.S.

Border Patrol agents stopped the woman as she drove her red Pontiac near Deer Springs Road around 5 p.m. Sunday. The 18-year-old – who the Border Patrol declined to name – acted nervously and gave inconsistent answers to questions, said agent Jerry Conlin.

Her behavior roused agents’ suspicion, so they checked her car with a drug-sniffing dog. The animal alerted agents, so they searched the vehicle and found four big bundles of methamphetamine in her purse, Conlin said.
