Woman Confirmed Dead In Winchester Mobile Home Fire

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Details are few, but authorities are confirming that a 75-year-old woman was found dead following a trailer fire in Winchester early New Year’s Day.

The blaze was reported at 6:25 a.m. in the 33900 block of Clinton Avenue, according to a report from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a double-wide mobile home fully involved with fire, according to Hendrickson’s report.

The fire was contained at approximately 6:54 a.m. but the structure was completely destroyed, she continued.

Firefighters confirmed the one fatality, but there were no reports of other injuries.

The coroner has not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
