Woman Hides In Bushes To Escape Alleged Abuser

"After being held against her will for two hours, the victim was able to escape and call 911," reported Sgt. Jon Wade of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A woman who says a man assaulted her and held her against her will was able to escape and call 911, police are reporting.

John David Allen, 43, was arrested without incident Monday evening at a residence in the 38000 block of Mesa Road, just outside Temecula city limits.

He is accused of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, terrorist threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and arson, according to jail records.

The woman’s identity has not been released by police and it’s unclear what her exact relationship with Allen is.

“After being held against her will for two hours, the victim was able to escape and call 911,” reported Sgt. Jon Wade of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. “The victim concealed herself in nearby bushes until deputies arrived.”

Deputies located Allen inside the residence and took him into custody without incident, Wade said.
