Woman Pleads Guilty to Killing Friend in Crash

The 19-year-old Murrieta woman could face 10 years in prison.

A 19-year-old woman pleaded guilty Monday to killing a friend in an alcohol-fueled crash.

Ashly Nicole Rodriguez pleaded admitted to the vehicular manslaughter charge at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley, according to the Californain.

The crash happened around 2:55 a.m. on Jan. 22 on Borel Road just east of Buck Road. Rodriguez left a party with three friends. She was drunk, and she lost control of her car, drove her car off the road, rolling it several times, officials told the Californian.

The victim, Aaron Ellison, 19, also of Murrieta, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was sitting in the front seat, and the impact of the crash threw him out of the wind shield.

Rodriguez's blood alcohol content was .19, police officials told the paper. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 28, according to court records. She could be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
