A suspect was collared -- reportedly with the help of neighborhood residents -- following a woman's stabbing this afternoon in Temecula's Meadowview area.
The attack was reported at 3:41 p.m. on Via Norte, near Calle Pina Colada, according to sheriff's officials.
A witness told Patch that his father was one of the neighborhood residents that helped to catch the man, after he was seen walking down the street shirtless and covered in blood.
The suspect -- a young man in white shorts -- was reportedly holding a large knife, said the man, who asked not to be identified.
The man told Patch that his father was outside when he spotted the shirtless man and soon after that, a speeding mountain biker who told residents he had heard a woman screaming and saw the man stabbing the victim.
Sheriff's deputies could not confirm that the suspect was restrained by residents.
