Woman Stabbed in Temecula, Suspect in Custody

A man was in sheriff's custody tonight, arrested following the stabbing of a woman this afternoon.

A suspect was collared -- reportedly with the help of neighborhood residents -- following a woman's stabbing this afternoon in Temecula's Meadowview area.

The attack was reported at 3:41 p.m. on Via Norte, near Calle Pina Colada, according to sheriff's officials.

A witness told Patch that his father was one of the neighborhood residents that helped to catch the man, after he was seen walking down the street shirtless and covered in blood.

The suspect -- a young man in white shorts -- was reportedly holding a large knife, said the man, who asked not to be identified.

The man told Patch that his father was outside when he spotted the shirtless man and soon after that, a speeding mountain biker who told residents he had heard a woman screaming and saw the man stabbing the victim.

Sheriff's deputies could not confirm that the suspect was restrained by residents.

Nope it was a 19 year old white kid. But they can still blame illegal immigrants though........
Brenda February 03, 2012 at 08:19 PM
Paul I agree, and your percentages are correct. I do not remember the last figures on illegals in our prisons but it was HIGH! There is plenty of "white trash" all over that just do not want to work, that rather collect whatever they can, live with a buncha people, and do drugs, drink all day. Probably all of us have a group in our family lines that is the big white bull at all the family functions. Racism can be against our own people too just because of how they are, and choose to live their lives. Some biker groups are totally awesome, others you do not get any closer then a mile. Its the person not the color that makes us speak of racism and non law abiding. Illegals are high on that list because their first illegal act is crossing over our border. Collecting aid which is based on mostly false statements. Knowing to come here pregnant or get pregnant fast, or having a younger daughter saying it is her child, and then or course they bring the sex crimes to the camps, the drug manufacturing to pay back their indenture to whatever drug lord paid their way here. They start out illegal and continue to live here in everyway illegally, including not paying taxes because of how they do earn their money. I am not sure how this turned to this guy being illegal either. But whatever he is, he committed a terrible crime on this poor woman, a horrible attack that she will live with all her life, and I would like to see he has not a moments peace the rest of his life.

Amazing to me how people just jump to conclusions and start profiling....It was a male caucasian attacking a female caucasian. No illegals, no minority, homeless, etc....... Shame on everyone who "assumed" and started thinking this way....It amazes me how these same people claim to be "christians" and people of "good faith".

From what I heard about this incident, it was not domestic violence, it was a completely random attack. I hope the victim is healing well. Sadly, violence can happen anywhere - in the biggest of cities or the smallest of towns. I for one am happy to live in a city where when something does happen, people are not afraid to get involved.

Carla you must not have children in our schools where the drinking, drugs have run rampant before during and after school. The kids selling drugs at the school, fights that are daily, school officers office filled each day with these violators. We have hot spots all over Temecula that if you are aware of them you will almost certainly see a drug deal going down. You will also be aware of the Los Angeles felons, tatoo'd up coming down here to deliver drugs, and our police have been lucky to apprehend a few(in the newspapers), but they just keep on coming, as do the drugs to Temecula from the south as we are a perfect freeway city for transportation to anywhere. We do not have any room in our Juvenile Halls Carla, and its not because our kids are wonderful, and parents put their children and family first. We do not have room in our prisons for most offenders of any crimes. They just let out 2000 to roam or be on ankle bracelets. I wonder where you are everyday that you live in such an ignorant place as to not know what goes on in our City each day. Go back and read the paper the last 4 months and you'll see it has never been so bad. DUI's, deaths, murders, suicides, run away, missing children, drugs in all manners, assaults, burglaries of business, homes, teachers, pastors drinking on the job, molesting children, sex with minors, etc. etc. Armchair warriors knows what is going on in our community and not completely ignorant to its current situations in all cities.
Brenda February 03, 2012 at 08:51 PM
I am glad there was witnesses, and that he was caught red handed, so there is no doubt when he goes to trial that HE DID IT, and he will PAY THE PRICE, AND I hope its for once a long hard price he pays. Not out with a bracelet on for 3 years or 1 year and a bracelet, but 15 years IN Federal Pen. Do it right the first time system for once. You have everything you need, no question to convict this man and do NOT let him off or off easily.

I've lived in Temecula for 15years. I've moved away & I've moved back. Temecula is a great, SAFE city. Just look at the comments posted here. As with every other city, you'll have the ignorant bigots that blame illegals & "low-class" citizens. You will also have a community of people sticking together & supporting each during difficult times. Thankfully, the latter out numbers the former. A perfect example of why Temecula I great is that the neighbors/community helped apprehend this individual. If, for some reason, I accidentally leave my house with the door unlocked, I have comfort in knowing that I have good neighbors... This is a great city with great people. If you have issues with this town then I will gladly help you move (as I too, am from Temecula & know how to be neighborly) Our city streets & traffic thank you for leaving. And as for FACTS: Fact: Temecula is one of the SAFEST cities in Southern California. Fact: Temecula has the highest graduation rate in Riverside county You may not consider these to be great achievements but some of us do value what this community has done for us. I emplore you to find a better community. I promise you, there are few better that Temecula.

The news is now stating that there was no arguement, they did not know each other.
S February 03, 2012 at 09:24 PM
There's a new article reporting who he is. I went to high school with him, did not talk much but did not seem dangerous. Who knows what's happening. Has nothing to do with being a minority because he wasn't. Good kid, smart, played baseball. My utmost best wishes to the victim.
Valerie February 03, 2012 at 10:24 PM
this is crazy! i went to school with this kid! he was the probably the most quietest kid i have ever met. he played baseball and everything! :O definitely a shocker!
cmac February 03, 2012 at 11:19 PM
Ok Captain Factoid, Because you said it that settles it. Back your information up. I did hours and hours of research before I decided to leave Temecula and go somewhere to raise a family and believe me it was not difficult to find a better community than Temecula. You live in the Inland Empire, crime rates are NOT low per capita when compared to good communities or counties and education levels are not inspiring by any stretch of the imagination. Why are you calling people bigots? No one has given you the right to call them that. The individual that helped catch this man is an exception to the majority of Temecula, I commend him for stepping up. I left Temecula 3 years ago when 3 different households in our community housed child molesters that moved in shortly after the housing collapse and unemployment rates in Riverside County were the second worst in California. Not a place I want to live. I keep reading about stabbings, the pastors son who was minding his own business at ET's Lounge in Temecula was stabbed to death with his friend, Bispy stabbed in mall parking lot, 20 year old kid that was stabbed at the sports park, now this. Keep saying that this is a good place to live and maybe you will believe it but it is what it is and my or your words cannot change the results.
cmac February 03, 2012 at 11:20 PM
continued... It is interesting that you say you would help me move, well you can't because I already did but I am not the type of person you want moving out of your community, it is the newcomers you have to watch out for. I am not saying all people coming in are low-lifes or "illegals" so don't get on your high horse yet, but what I am saying is that housing is affordable for just about anyone and you don't want just anyone moving in next door.
Brenda February 03, 2012 at 11:32 PM
I agree cmac. If everyone here would read the news stories over say the last 2 years they would see the continual decline and the amount of crimes, and different crimes we get here now. Lord just since 6 months ago!! We have every possible crime with persons from every possible background doing them. Our teachers, our pastors, our police officers, people roaming in our neighborhoods we have never seen(thank god someone video'd them to ID them as felon drug sellers from LA.) DUI's, random shootings, fights, our kids and drugs and our schools overwhelmed with it, runaways or missing children, murdering wife or kids, or suicides etc. When we first moved here in 2006 I used to always tell friends "Gosh and We dont have any crime our news is boring" when they would tell me about theirs. Now I am telling them of at least 2 or 3 things a day, just in Temecula? Not the whole county here, but just Temecula. :/

SPB February 04, 2012 at 02:13 AM
I assumed nothing. You didn't say he was illegal or latino, that was JJ. I lumped both of you together for expediency (his posts have since been deleted). Your comment was regarding the guy's income level. My point was that you can't sneeze without people bringing race and income into the equation and it just makes you look foolish when thats your go to conjecture regarding local crime. I am aware that most prisoners in California are non white. Were you aware that about half of those in prison are there on drug crimes? Now considering that suburban white people drug abuse (oxycontin, xanax, vicodin etc) is treated differently than say the stereotypical inner city drugs (crack, heroin, pot) it wouldn't be too difficult to extrapolate that while the prison population may be mostly populated by minorities, the criminal justice system is inherently biased against the drugs of choice for lower-incomed Americans (though pot is everywhere now), because lets be honest, this whole country is on drugs, its just a matter of who your supplier is. As far as illegals, I'm against it like most people, I just think its ridiculous how every problem in America has been reduced to blaming illegal immigration as if all of our problems would evaporate if we kicked everybody out. Its a problem to be dealt with, but our nation's problems need far more complex answers than build a bigger fence

An F grade for a single typo? Yikes. Talk about steep grading curve. Thanks for the editing work though, when I start looking for an intern I'll keep you in mind.

Wow! I just have to say 2 families are suffering tonight, and my heart goes out to both. I hope that neither of you pay any attention to any of these comments.. I also want to applaud the Temecula residents who stayed by this women's side, and helped to capture her attacker. They are true hero's in my book!

Brenda February 04, 2012 at 04:46 AM
People of good faith and who are Christians can have an opinion on people who commit crimes against our states by entering this country illegally Temecula Resident. Why would you ever think that one has anything negative to do with the other? Or that someone is not of good faith or a Christian because they do NOT approve of laws being broken in our country and even more that most nothing is done to those criminals who do break our laws? Christians of good faith are not suppose to support our people and our laws? Just be "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil"? Smile like a stepford wife? Wow.
Brenda February 04, 2012 at 04:51 AM
Yes everyone who helped the victim and to apprehend the violator are to be commended for not just calling 911 but getting her help, and containing him.
Brenda February 04, 2012 at 05:29 AM
Nick, you feel people are speaking out of line about your friend. The person who committed this atrocity? But its horrible news here Nick and news of heros who caught him. Innocent until proven guilty, even if witnessed by several, well......... I suggest you do NOT read these posts as they're not going to be nice to your friend, more likely hateful for the crime he has or will be charged with. With your lack of facts, maturity and ignorance, you state "Focus on the fact that the woman was harmed and is now alright." just makes me want to go ballistic on you. How can you say this woman having just been physically attacked, being stabbed multiple times in the chest and back is "alright"? Are you as insane as your friend you come to defend of this horribly atrocious crime? Would YOU be "alright Nick"? This woman will NEVER be ok. She will live with fear and scars of some random murderer trying to kill her for no reason??? What reason Nick? Hmm? What reason would give your friend who is just another "temecula teenager" the right to do this crime on this woman, and then you come and say he is a great kid, his family and him are not slum, or homeless(no one said they were that I recall)his family is great, to check our facts, before showing our ignorance? So who is showing their ignorance here Nick? You say this womans attack is nothing, she is alright, she will live, so stop talking about your buddy? Thats a big no Nick until his trial is done and he is sentenced.
Brenda February 04, 2012 at 05:32 AM
CM I read through all these posts and no one says anything bad about either family. Just about the subject. We got off track on diffferent types of crmes in temecula and people moving into temecula. But nothing was said directly about either the victim or the perpetrators family. Especially nothing about whether they were hispanic, legal, illegal black, or white, rich or poor.
URAB February 04, 2012 at 06:47 AM
Brenda i am tired of seeing your name throughout this conversation. Nobody on here cares about what you have to say or how you feel. You are wasting your time putting your opinions on this page because nobody cares what you think you know about this situation. We can get our information from the news, not some ignorant woman who feels she has to prove something to everyone on here. One comment was enough. Gosh. I feel so sorry for your neighbors. Oh and do not bother replying to this because i wont care what you have to say or even read it. I am doing this just to let out my frustration with you out.
Brenda February 04, 2012 at 12:17 PM
Urab, alot of trouble to go to for someone who does not care? Making a an account icognito just to write this? :) Especially if you read my posts to be able to determine you dont care what I think about this situation, right? Urab if I, someone who posts on a comments page with some 70 comments on it bothers you that much, you need a stress ball, LOL. Just put me on ignore Urab or skim over my name, it is much easier then going to all the trouble to make a new name.

Seriously! Never mind the neighbors. I feel sorry for the husband. If there is one. Maybe they should rename this site Brendas Patch. Since she seems to think she knows something about every single case on here. No doubt there was some excitement added to her life that her daughter was within minutes of one of these stories happening. Oh and who tells a grieving teenager that they need to see a psych? Where is that ignore button you told the other poster to put you under? I'm fed up with your posts too!
Brenda February 06, 2012 at 08:54 PM
Ahh another new name. Lacy, I have 15 comments on this thread with approx. 36 from everyone. I responded 7 times to comments someone else had already made, 8 times I started the comment. If you read this thread it covers so many different topics it is very easy to reply to the different subjects. Oh and 3 of my responses were nothing but thanking the persons who caught this individual and that there were witnesses to this crime. Then another 3 were comments back to "friends" of the accused who addressed me directly. I believe 1 or 2 to the victims Aunts. So basically my responses are not alot, I do not speak of things I do not know about directly from this article and I do not pretend to know everything about every single case in the news. I know as much as is printed in an article like everyone else. I do read the news. I go by the article and what witnesses say. So, I do not pretend, to know about this guy who did this, his family, or the young lady that is the victim. However as with many caring Temecula residents we will follow this case to see that the young woman is ok, if there are donations needed, and watch how the trial goes. My husband works and appreciates knowing the news around our city and country. LOL ya know the old married folks that still talk and sit around the breakfast table having coffee talking about the news of the day? Yep, No I guess you wouldnt know about that.
Lacy February 06, 2012 at 09:29 PM
