A male juvenile riding a skateboard suffered major injuries Sunday night in Temecula after being struck by a vehicle at Margarita Road and Avenida Barca, according to an official.
The incident was reported at 5:16 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.
According to Hagemann, the victim was a “young male adult" but Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Albert Martinez confirmed the victim was a juvenile.
The driver was questioned and released at the scene. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be crash factors and no citations were issued, according to Martinez.
The victim, whose exact age and identity were not provided, is in critical but stable condition, Martinez reported Monday afternoon.
