Candidate White Challenges Temecula Incumbents to Debate

Jamie R. White said she will debate both Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington at once.

"This is election season and the Temecula City Council incumbents have been missing in action," candidate Jamie R. White said in a news release Sunday.

"I am challenging City Council members Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington to a 1 on 2 debate."

White said that at the last city council meeting, she had to hear members of the Friends of the City Council "bash" her.

"So I would like an opportunity to debate the current city council and let the citizens of Temecula decide our fate."

Her news release goes on to state:

Temecula lies about $2.7 million surplus ... Naggar and the Successor Agency to the Temecula Redevelopment Agency is over $517,000 in Debt (State Controller Will Audit Temecula Within the Year and says that number will probably be much higher).

I, Jamie R. White challenge Mike  and Chuck Washington to a debate 2 on 1. They can pick the location and they can pick the time. I will be there waiting. Last Wednesday night the Kiwanis invited us to a candidate forum. Again, City Council members Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington were no shows. What does it take for a 2nd debate in Temecula?

What does it take to give the citizens of Temecula the debate that they deserve?

I’m not speaking for any other candidate. I’m only speaking for myself. I’m challenging both Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington to a Debate.

Pick the location. Pick the time. Mike Naggar was the head of the Temecula Redevelopment Agency and continues to lie about the debt.

Next year the citizens of Temecula will realize that they have been lieing [sic] but it will be too late.

Mike Naggar is also for the quarry as long as Jeff Stone is in charge.

This is in his own words. I am calling on the people of Temecula to DEMAND a debate between myself and Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington so that I can have the opportunity to have them tell you the truth.

@ CommCare. That was not a debate. That was a candidate forum. They were all asked a separate question. No one debated anything. There is no reason for you to begin to slander her. That appears to be what the friends of Naggar do. They simply say hurtful things about others. Why not call your friends and tell them to debate her.
Ron Paul October 15, 2012 at 07:50 PM
I watched the debate. She had her chance and blew it. She doesn't have a clue about how to run for office.. Why should anyone subject themselves to her rambling? Learn to speak is quick meaningful terms and not talk in circles.
David Shisler October 15, 2012 at 07:53 PM
I would like to see this debate, Mike Naggar and Chuck Washington would blow her out of the water. Jamie White had little to offer but agenda 21s bull, it's some type of scare tactic she's trying to use, she rather the area grow out, spoil all the open space I love, instead of planned neighborhoods within the city which would be perfect for young adults starting out. You know there are an increasing number of young people that don't even want a drivers license now. Who would guess? Oh and she should learn some accounting, I can have a large debt, like a mortgage, and still have savings at the end of year, gee how does that happen? And they want a police department, ask the cities of San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills and I could go on, why they use the Sheriff for their services, hell go on a ride-a-long and learn something.
Jim October 15, 2012 at 07:57 PM
I saw the debate. Naggar was so professional telling others to "just shut up". You Naggar lovers are the rudest people around. You Naggar people do not represent Temecula. Again, they did not have a debate. They were given individual questions that were important to the Chamber of Commerce who just received $150,000.00 just a couple of weeks before the debate by the Temecula City Council. The money was to be used to "fund promotional activities" on behalf of the city. Nice bribe. http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/temecula/temecula-city-oks-for-temecula-valley-chamber/article_3f5835e7-30a8-5bc0-bec2-51f7deea3de3.html
Jim October 15, 2012 at 07:58 PM
Sorry. Chamber got $135,000.00 from the Temecula City Council right before the election for promotional activities on behalf of the city.
The Republican October 15, 2012 at 08:15 PM
Washington and Naggar are just typical entrenched incumbents that are all about retaining power instead of truly representing the voters. Mrs. White's emotional state was not only hers. Thousands of Temeculans are tired of having their voices silenced or ignored in council meetings. The only person Naggar can blow out of the water in a debate is himself. He is a pompous moron.
David Shisler October 15, 2012 at 08:23 PM
Sorry for my ranting but I moved here from Orange County 11 years ago to retire and love this city. I wouldn't expect anyone to be perfect, but our city council has been doing a great job and have educated themselves well in the running the city. Only if someone steps up that as qualified would I consider voting for them. I do like Paul he's not so one dimensional.

Sure are a lot of naggar and washington rants on here. Typical lib. tactic. No plan, but attack the challengers. Seems like there are many questions that should be answered.
Roberto October 15, 2012 at 10:17 PM
I have to laugh at the name Naggar. It's almost a non PC word but I must admit I get the giggles when I say it.

First off, anybody who refuses to debate the issues facing this city has something to hide. David, I have lived here for 20 years and have seen a lot more changes to this city then you have. I moved here because it was a beautiful rural town that had a population of about 30k. Look at it now. It is becoming just like OC that you moved away from. I dont want to see Temecula start to build high density housing projects to urbanize this city. As for Agenda 21, it is a huge issue and goes directly to personal property rights and the ability of the citizens of this city to control our destiny and not un elected parties dictatating to the city on Sustainabilty issues.I dont think there is anyone out there that dont believe in taking care of out enviornment, but we dont need the UN to do that for us. Naggar and Washington have been in the local political scene for a long time and it is time to get some new council members in there to shake up the status quo and bring some fresh ideas to the city.
Brad October 16, 2012 at 02:31 AM
One sure thing about conspiracy theories is that they excite a small minority of the population but they totally turn off the vast majority of voters.
KB October 16, 2012 at 03:40 AM
Bottom line is we need new faces on the Temecula City Council: I like what I see in Lynes.
Popeye October 16, 2012 at 04:27 AM
That would be a waste of time to debate a Tea Bagger! A bunch of Agenda 21 whinners
Temecula Sunshine October 16, 2012 at 05:35 AM
David, I would pose this question to you: How does one become qualified without actually doing the job? By attending city council meetings, reviewing agendas, and reading the supplemental reports? Paul has attended council meetings for years. By stepping forward to address the council on issues? Paul has again done so for years, and has effected a number of changes, including prodding the council into giving public speakers an extra minute to address the council. By participating in a volunteer position on a city commission? Paul, once again, was on two different city commissions, including the traffic/safety commission. He knows how to both run and participate in meetings. I believe him to be qualified to do the job. What additional qualifications would you require?
The Republican October 16, 2012 at 06:27 PM
Chucky and Naggar are Teabagging Temecula
SPB October 16, 2012 at 08:01 PM
Right! Water conservation is bad! Silica dust is good!
SPB October 16, 2012 at 08:04 PM
I have a friend who likes to say "Mike Naggar ain't my Naggar." Its ok though since he's black. Thats the rule right?
The Patriot October 17, 2012 at 05:39 PM
Obviously you are just a council crony and just for the record, public figures are exempt from regular defamation laws notwithstanding it is not slander if it is true. Everything that Jamie White said was true which is why Naggar was having a heart attack and was acting like Biden in the VP debate.
The Patriot October 17, 2012 at 05:45 PM
Agenda 21 is NO scare tactic, it is very real and was passed by this council in 2010. It is in the general plan. Also, get it straight, they want the old city hall to be used as a Sheriff's substation. That is a good thing, responding from French Valley takes forever, not to mention driving all the way over there to file reports whatever. None of them are implying that they establish their own police force. EVERY officer that I have spoke with about this thinks it's a great idea. Maybe you need to go on a ride-a-long.
The Patriot October 17, 2012 at 05:52 PM
One dimensional? Are you talking about yourself? Chuck Washington and Mike Naggar have done nothing except spread lies. Go look at their ballot statements if you don't believe me. They both take credit for stopping the quarry and we ALL know that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, it is on it's way and maybe nothing can be done at this point to stop it because they gave up their sphere of influence in 2010 to the county. Maybe you like being lied to by corrupt politicians? If you buy what they are selling, you are not only one dimensional but you are also delusional.
The Patriot October 17, 2012 at 05:58 PM
Well said! I was here in 1991 and moved here because I liked the space and country, now it is getting as crowded as LA. I don't mind the tourism so much but the pack em' and stack em' crap has got to stop. Naggar was nothing before he got elected, now he is wealthy. Making money on all his back room developer deals. He took 100K from the Calvary church for consulting, no conflict of interest there? Time to flush Temecula's political toilet.
The Patriot October 17, 2012 at 06:03 PM
What is a conspiracy theory? Agenda 21? The reclaimed water that is being used to irrigate our parks? Maybe the half billion of debt that is owed to the RDA? Sorry, that is ALL true and proven. On the flip side the lies that Mike and Chuck have told about defeating the quarry, 2 million dollar budget surplus, the second safest city in the nation. All Lies!

I can't stand a liar.
Jim October 17, 2012 at 08:29 PM
Why is the City Council so afraid to Debate one girl? Just debate her and shut her up. If she is full of crap they will make her look silly. If there is no $1/2 billion in redevelopment debt then she will look crazy. If sustainability is not in the city plan then she will look nuts. Debate her and shut her up!!
Jim October 17, 2012 at 08:33 PM
Our great city council is expanding the use of sewer water on our city. Here is a new article. http://www.pe.com/local-news/riverside-county/temecula/temecula-headlines-index/20121012-temecula-community-switching-to-water-wise-landscaping.ece I noticed the word "sustainability" in the last sentence.
Ned October 20, 2012 at 03:48 AM
i am voting for White. That is it.

Temecula City Council is about to have their lies exposed. Here is the beginning with $4,000,000.00. http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/temecula/temecula-state-ruling-blocks-m-affordable-housing-grant/article_23b3e4fc-2cf4-5909-949c-b9ddb1f2f9b9.html?print=true&cid=print
