The county’s Office of Emergency Services will distribute the funds as needed to 26 city and county agencies under the “Riverside County Operational Area” umbrella.
A portion of the funds will be used to obtain “a cache of pharmaceuticals for first responders and their families” in case of an event that shuts off supply lines, leaving communities isolated.
