The candidates, incumbents and issues that will be affecting Murrieta and Riverside County.

With the June primary behind us, as we look ahead to Novemberโ€™s elections, Temecula Patch is devoted to bring you the information you need about every race in town.ย 

Here's our start on the candidates and issues we'll be covering as November draws near.

50th District Congressional Race: Republican Duncan D. Hunter and Democrat will appear on November's ballot for District 50, which includes most of Temecula. District 50 includes most of Temecula and much of North County San Diego.

42nd District Congressional Race: , R-Corona, has been serving in Congress since 1992. He currently represents the 44th District, but with , Calvert now seeks to represent the newly-redrawn 42nd District, which includes northeastern Temecula and unincorporated areas, such as Wine Country, French Valley and De Luz. His challenger, , D-Mission Viejo, is an attorney who aims to unseat the Republican.

75th State Assembly Race: Escondido City Council member Marie Waldron and challenger Matthew Herold will vie for District 75, which encloses Temecula and much of North County San Diego.

67th State Assembly Race: Phil Paule, R-French Valley, and Melissa Melendez, R-Lake Elsinore, to become the two likley candidates for the 67th Assembly Distict. Paule has served as the district aide for U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, while Melendez is a Lake Elsinore city councilwoman. Outlying unincorporated areas around Temecula, such as French Valley and Winchester, are in District 67.

3rd District County Supervisor: Incumbent Jeff Stone, who got his start in politics as a Temecula City Council member, will appear with challenger Joe Scarafone for a seat on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
