Jill... Pres. Obama does not write the NDAA congress does! He continues to threaten to veto the NDAA because of the provisions that should not be there!

I did some more research. The NDAA was actually veto proof. That's why he waited till the last minute, in protest of the bill. You need to question your source on this....

Paul Ryan has his facts wrong, blaming President Obama for the closing of an auto plant that stopped producing GM vehicles in 2008.

No... He can't do that. Only congress can. The NDAA passed the Senate by a 93 to 7 vote! Do you think your fellow repubs would have let him have that kind of power? the seven no votes were.....

Regarding the NDAA, it might be a good idea to read the information on the following site, and the associated signers, first. As a 26 year Air Force wife, I can tell you that there are terrorist, both in and out of the US, and they would not hesitate to take everyone out. As far as I am concerned, anyone convicted of terrorism against the US has given up any rights, and bringing terrorists to the US for trial just makes us more vulnerable to attacks in retribution.

Keep an eye on Florida and their racial civil rights in the streets over the killing of the young boy, by Zimmerman this will set off the black panthers when this happens then they will call Marshall Law, there will be no election and Obummer will rule and continue his damnation of the USA without anyone to hold him back. Oh heck, we haven't used the original Constitution for over 200 years, however, I totally agree about the borders. It would be extremely easy for a terrorist to cross from Canada or Mexico, especially Mexico since Obama has given them a free pass and Brown has put out the welcome mat. I'm not totally focused on terrorists and do not see one behind every tree, but I've been through the Cold War, the hot war, and the lukewarm one. They aren't playing games and they aren't afraid to die for their cause, whatever that may be.

The provisions were put back in the bill because Obama noted they were not in the bill, the point is they were placed in the bill with the help of Obama and a congress with an approval rating of 10.
JP Morgan gave Obama hundreds of thousands of dollars, so Obama being critical of the 1% is hypocritical. Romney is not a billionaire, he is a multimillionaire that has created thousands of jobs.

Jill,,, that's why he didn't want to sign the bill. Pres. Obama is a Constitutional scholar. I can see how he wouldn't want that to happen to Americans. And sorry to say.... You can't build a fence around America there is too much of it! That's thousands of miles of boarders not to mention the coast lines. Pres. Obama has sent more illegals home in just over 3 years than Bush did in eight!

Mariana, I agree with most of your comment, but I believe our government is exaggerating terrorism as an excuse for the federal government to have more control over the people and gain more power.
The underwear bomber had a fire cracker in his pants, and now we have perverts that aren't screened patting down toddlers and removing old ladies colostomy bags. This is sick, and make no mistake about it if you choose the total body xray you are exposed to a significant amount of radiation. I know the terrorists mean business but people have lost their common sense.

Jill, I think the public has become complacence after the initial shock of 9/1t. There were no further attacks, but I also think that there are terrorist cells already in the US, waiting for just the right moment and the right plan. I'm not offended or concerned about the pat down or the scanner at the airport. In a human way, I am responsible for every other person on the plane,,babies, children, adults and grandparents. If being scanned or patted down means that the plane arrives safely, I'm happy with that. The US will always be at war with the Middle East, because it is a combination of anti democracy rule and religion, with a bit of hate thrown in for good measure. I have Muslims friends who have no desire to kill me, nor I to kill them. I guess the bottom line is that if they can stop just one terrorist from completing an act, like in NY and DC, then we all win. It's really not much difference from having a home security system on your house.

Jill...Deterrent works, whether it was the now defunct Titian missiles system or the still active Minuteman missiles. About 25 years ago, bases were set up in England for a new missile, The Ground Launch Cruise Missile (GLCM). Moved around the British countryside on trucks, those missiles were aimed at Russia, It was a good deterrent; Russia blinked; GLCM was deactivated, and a treaty was signed. Keeping America safe from insurgents is not easy but absolutely vital. If we are attacked, it could mean the end of the world as we know it, and I'm not ready for that! I want to grow older and have more wrinkles
