Lake Elsinore Selects New City Manager

Grant Yates has spent the last 21 years working with the City of Temecula and before that worked approximately 5 years with the City of Carlsbad.

The following is a news release from the City of Lake Elsinore:

The Lake Elsinore City Council announced the selection of Grant Yates as City Manager of Lake Elsinore. The City Council employed the services of a consulting firm who conducted a nationwide recruitment where a total of 70 candidates applied for the position. After an extensive interview process, the City Council unanimously agreed to hire Grant Yates for the position.

Mayor Tisdale stated, “Grant Yates has a proven track record of leadership with extensive experience in public sector management with skills in economic development and community relations. We believe this experience will be particularly beneficial in Lake Elsinore.”

Grant Yates has spent the last 21 years working with the City of Temecula and before that worked approximately 5 years with the City of Carlsbad. He has held a number of positions in Temecula including Community Relations Director, Deputy City Manager and Financial Services Administrator and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Public Administration.

Yates stated, “I am honored to be selected as the next City Manager in Lake Elsinore and will be able to hit the ground running because of my knowledge of the area. I was attracted to the position because of the extreme opportunities that are present in the City and was impressed with the City Council’s passion for improving the quality of life for the citizens of the Lake Elsinore.”

The City Council will consider approving the employment contract at the November 13th City Council meeting.

Welcome Mr. Yates, I hope that you can bring some of the amazing things that have happened in the City of Temecula to Lake Elsinore, we sure do need some major changes for this town.
