LETTER: Government Inefficiencies Costing Temecula Valley Over $9 Million/Year

Doing the math, $30 per month * 12 months * 25,000 water/sewer bills = $9 million.

The following is a letter to the editor:

We officially have 4 water districts in the Temecula Valley EMWD, EVMWD, Rancho and WMWD. The Rancho District is actually 2 separate districts, (Rancho and Santa Rosa) each with their own cost and rate schedules. The Santa Rosa Division of Rancho, WMWD and EVMWD service Murrieta and Wildomar. All 3 districts here in the Temecula Valley are very small. Fixed Costs of the 3 districts tend to very high and with few clients to share the cost, conservation minded residents pay approximately $30 per month more than EMWD and Rancho Division customers for their Water/Sewer bills.  Needless to say, non-conservation usages pay even more. This affects about 25,000 water/sewer bills in the North End of the Temecula Valley.

Doing the math, $30 per month * 12 months * 25,000 water/sewer bills = $9 million.

What an economic boost for our valley.

You paid $77.18 for only 6 units of water, I have a bill from a friend serviced by the Rancho Division of Rancho. He used 24 units of water and his total bill was only about $62.00. Use 4 times more water and pay less, what a deal.

RCWD rates are a lot lower than EMWD rates...you need to check your facts, EMWD has the highest rates it the area not RCWD

JP - You are only half right. RCWD has 2 divisions with totally different rates. Move to the North end of the Temecula Valley and your sewer/water bill will double.

the problem with the water companies is that they have you convinced that there is a water shortage. there is no water shortage it is a scam!!! to make somebody super rich. my parents went with a large group of retired people on a journey to somewhere near the central valley and there this man who used to work for the state of california doing underground surveying. he said they drilled this hole and many others and to his surprise was this river that was so hugh he said it was bigger than any river in the united states. further more he said that this wasn't the only underground river there are many more in california. these rivers are not aquifurs and they flow guess where?? straight into the pacific ocean.
