Tavaglione was first in the race for the 41st U.S. Congressional District with 19,815 votes, or 44.94 percent of the total. If the result does not radically change on Friday when the Riverside County Registrar of Voters releases the next ballot count update, he will run against Mark Takano for a seat in the House of Representatives.
