Report: New Temecula Finance Director Left Behind City in Debt

The finance director currently employed by the City of Temecula left behind a city in debt, The Press-Enterprise reported Tuesday.

Finance Director Jennifer Hennessy previously worked for the City of Chico, in the northern California county of Butte, and that city's finances—involving sizable negative balances—were at the center of a recent grand jury investigation, the newspaper reported.

Hennessy was hired in March to replace former City of Temecula Finance Director Genie Wilson, who was terminated alongside former City Manager Bob Johnson in November 2012.
