temecula's city council is corrupt, they got guys getting free lunches from restaurants when they have plenty of money to pay for them
unknownone November 16, 2012 at 05:26 PM
and i really am not surprised the people who are charge of taking care of temecula, being city council, mayor, etc, they really suck at it, all they care about are their tourists, not the residents..
Jim November 16, 2012 at 08:06 PM
Our city council has "no right" to say "no comment" to the people. What is going on at our city hall?
Brenda November 16, 2012 at 08:08 PM
True unknownone, but whatever keeps track of tourists should run some current numbers cause it sure doesnt seem we have as many as a few years ago. With traffic the way it is, wrecks, prices going up on tourist locations, crimes, people are just finding something else to do that doesnt cost in cash or gas. I know that a lot of my friends were coming to Temecula all the time, now its been months and months since one has been out. I still believe that we are entitled to know the exact reasons these two have been put on leave pending termination. When corruption, missuse of funds, anything is done that constitutes termination we have the right to know why, correct?
Blondie422 November 16, 2012 at 08:33 PM
Jim and Brenda you are both correct. The Temecula City Council, the City Manager and the CFO are probably breaking the Brown Act by working together to come up with a reason why things are falling apart. This is happening right after the election. They must have known about these issues before we voted. There needs to be transparency in our city halls. We are far from transparency. It is business as usual with this city council and management staff. And it is our fault that we put them all back in office.
Enough Already November 16, 2012 at 09:18 PM
Enough Already, please everyone show up at the Temecula City Council Meeting Tues 7 pm and demand some answers, obviously this has been in the works for some time, our city government offers the citizens NO transparency .
Jim November 16, 2012 at 09:41 PM
There will continue to be no transparency as long as the citizens of Temecula place no demands on their city council. It is up to the citizens to keep a watchful eye on their elected officials. This election was a blowout and its the fault of the citizens for not waking up and taking the dust out of their eyes. This is "our fault" that we have no transparency.
TVOR November 16, 2012 at 09:51 PM
I am sure there are laws protecting the privacy of those placed on admin leave. After they are fired officially I think the city will have to divulge why.
Brenda November 16, 2012 at 09:51 PM
Yep Yep you are right 100% Blondie. Just like a Day Care Center, and yes pun is intended, everything is transparent, no doors, no offices, all open, and an open door policy at any time. Its is our fault they are back in office, err, well the ones who just do not stay informed, which I can understand. My mom was not informed, she is 73, until she got her first computer a year ago. Now she knows everything! But most of our elderly do not have computers, or watch or read council meetings, or see the locked ones etc. That is what I believe lost this election for new blood and new people to tear those records apart and find out what exactly has been going on. Older people, and some others who just are too busy to stay informed always pick the names they are familiar with and who have been in office unfortunately. So our wonderful City Council managed to keep what went on with these two terminated secret, but hopefully it will not remain that way.
Enough Already November 16, 2012 at 09:59 PM
Enough Already, well then let us all get out of our comfort zones and demand accountability and transparency of the city council. People the government works for us ,they are our employees. According to the city's flow chart WE THE PEOPLE are at the top of the chart so let exercise our rights and demand transparency . If not now when?
Enough Already November 16, 2012 at 10:09 PM
TVOR you are so trusting of the council , do you really believe that , if you do not think they will spin it then I have a bridge to sell you. You do not find the timing interesting - 1 week after an election they have a special meeting to place Bob on administrative leave and then Genie is placed on leave . Why don't we all wake up and show up and demand some answers as they govern because we allow them to
Jim November 16, 2012 at 10:11 PM
I doubt they will fire Genie Wilson. She knows everything about the financial games the city council has been playing. She knows that the $2.7 so called surplus came from the $120,000,000.00 redevelopment money that the city council moved around (and we owe it back). She knows that our city is basically floating on borrowed money. I doubt highly that the city council will dare to let Genie go. No way.
Stanley November 16, 2012 at 10:22 PM
Your friends don't come out to see you anymore because you're an annoying know-it-all.
Enough Already November 16, 2012 at 10:32 PM
the bogus unaudited 2.7 that magically appeared in Oct so the 2 incumbents could proudly claim it and ride the wave to victory. Wow what a city folks, they play with the money like it is monopoly money , floating along until the day the citizens demand an independent audit and total transparency. Let us be the generation that holds their feet to the fire! Absolute power corrupts absolutely
Jim November 16, 2012 at 10:46 PM
The City Council and Genie both know there was no surplus. The city council illegally moved all of the Redevelopment Agency assets over to the city and only counted the assets. They did not count the debt. Here is the transaction. 16.1 Approve the action minutes of January 10, 2012.. 7 Approval of Grant Deeds for the transfer of Agency-owned properties from the Redevelopment Agency to the City of Temecula- Approve staff recommendation (5- 0-0) Agency Member Comerchero made the motion; it was seconded by Agency Member Washington; and electronic vote reflected unanimous approval. RECOMMENDATION: 17.1. Approve the Grant Deeds for the transfer of all Agency owned properties from the Redevelopment Agency to the City of Temecula, and adopt a resolution entitled: RESOLUTION NO. RDA12-03

The Temecula Gravy Train is such a hot ride!

Dudes and Dudettes, This corruption cannot be happening here in the" Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" Americans are not corrupt , 'cause DOG, sorry I mean GOD is on their side. Corrupt Dudes are found in Mexico, IRAQ, Afghanistan even Canada . but never in the USA. So let us keep telling other nations how to behave in a moral , ethical , and honest manner. And WMD are not allowed or we will invade them. Every time I read a post on this thread saying how Temecula is such a safe city, I notice the posters always omitted the rampant corruption going on in Temecula.

Stanley, aka John Doe, Mary Doe, Don Doe, Doe Doe, LOL Stanley, I think everyone my age knows a bit about everything silly goosehead. I know more about criminal, civil law, codes and enforcement, police crime procedures, scenes and investigations then anything. I do not know squat about Politics, Art, Wines, Plays, Authors, Movies, etc.(unless its to do with law, crimes, etc). Like most people I was interested at a young age in a particular field and that is what I stuck to and loved it and absorbed as much information as I could, and I still do Stanley Doe. So if you only read the stories that have something to do with the above, then you will usually see me comment, and that doesn't make me a know it all, just means I have an opinion and interest. There are MANY who comment far more then I do, and with just as much knowledge on the topic or more, and I learn from them. For an example, the Quarry. It went on for so long, and I just did not take any notice of it until about a year ago. Then one of the articles caught my eye on just how close it was to us. So I went back and read everything I could find on it, researched all the articles, everyones comments who all had valuable information and feelings on it. Now, I pride myself on being up to date on it the last 6 months or so. Thanks to commentors. Open your eyes Stanley Doe and read all the posts on every article, get knowledgeable before you go making silly claims about me or just look for my comments.

Temecula Safe. That was the report for 2010. Most people were loosing homes and moving away then. 2011 showed a 28% increase and more serious crimes. We all know 2012 has been nothing but daily crimes, murders, felony assaults, attempted murder, vehicular manslaughters, DUI's, Robberies and Burglaries are going to see an increase of about 100% I bet alone. We had over 4 or 5 groups of them caught this year, one group responsible for 31 of them alone. There were also many many they could not pin on any of those arrested, and are still unsolved. It will be a year before we get 2012 results but it is going to be bad and way up there in unsafe Cities. So everyone needs to quit using the old 2010 report and go with the new 2011 report. Then at least double it all for 2012. And its so damn phricking SAD.
Brenda November 18, 2012 at 10:51 AM
Oh and what GAL Cann says too with the corruption.
TVOR November 18, 2012 at 09:00 PM
Its not that I trust the city council so much as that I think the citizens will demand the truth and they will not take the chance of lieing about it and exposing themselves to legal scrutiny. The freedom of information act will probably force them to disclose things. If anything I see them delaying as long as possible.
