Restaurants Coming to Harveston

The mostly residential neighborhood will soon house a pizza restaurant and a yogurt shop.

A pizza restaurant and a yogurt shop will soon open their doors in Harveston.

The plan was approved by the city's Planning Commission on Wednesday during a meeting at the .

The plan includes building two buildings. The first will house the restaurants. The second one had no set use as of the meeting, according to Eric Jones, a case planner with the city.

The building's architecture will blend with feel of the community's plan, Jones wrote in a report for the commission.

"The Harveston Specific Plan envisioned the site to be pedestrian friendly and a place for the community to gather," the planner wrote."With this in mind, the applicant has provided outdoor pedestrian seating and gathering areas."

The seating areas will include a fire pit, decorative paving and a fountain.

Lou Kashmere, the owner of the Creekside Gas and Food Mart, submitted the application for the project, according to the report.
