Cameron Kaiser has been working as health officer since October 2011, a position that enforces public health statutes.

The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday appointed Dr. Cameron Kaiser to be the public health officer. Kaiser has been serving as the public health officer for more than a year on an interim basis.

Kaiser, 36, will enforce county ordinances and state and federal statutes regarding public health and sanitary matters within the unincorporated areas of the county and all cities in Riverside County.

“There are many challenges facing Riverside County when it comes to the future of public health,” said Kaiser. “Riverside County, like the rest of the country, is moving from the era of communicable disease to the era of chronic disease. By getting at its root causes, we can not only help get people get well, but reduce its the chronic disease impact on future generations.”
