ok there homeless yet they want a place to live for free??? Then they complain the place is a dump, if you staying there why dont they clean the bathroom if it is gross, becuase they are lazy and want everything givin to them. How about the city make it as difficult as possible for them so they move on to another city. It is a blight on this once great town to see these bums all over town.

Right-O Paul. Everyone going into the Project needs to be evaluated however for mental or physical illness as somewhere else might be available unless they have been that route before. Now refuse to stay on medications, work, etc. and still just trying to find a free place to live. Each person does or will shortly recieve aid, food cards, etc. Free clothes, and food at different locations and all sorts of facilities working with homeless. If they didnt save up by now, with living on the streets or in their cars, to get an apartment, its not likely that transitional housing at "Project" will help them. The transitiional living is to get you off the streets, safe for a month or two until your aid gets started(alot of times they walk out with the food cards and cash if all their ducks are in a row) and you can save money to get into an apartment with another person, or family, find a job, and then hopefully progress onto your own apartment by yourself or with your family, children. Godsakes clean the apartments people!! Its a free place, be glad it has any mattress, a refridgerator, somethings you have not had for sometime. Be thankful that you have this place, be proud, clean it, work out your program to get yourself back on your feet while you save your money. Now if someone is a drunk or drug addict none of this is going to work, and is probably why they up and leave because they need every penny they get for drugs. :/

If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied,if everyone shared and swallowed their pride, we'd see the day that no-body died. Jesus loved all people, regardless of their problems.

I remember back in the mid 80s Hemet had this thing called Valley Restart go into operation. Look at Hemet now. Making these people welcome in your city is inviting every lowlife to move in. Before you know it any house near there will be full of section 8 lowlifes and then it just spreads from there.
Chris December 03, 2012 at 09:31 PM
my wife back in the 80's help start up valley re-start, it's not the program that's making hemet, the way it is , it's the city council, accepting re-location money from LA and orange county, to accept a certain percentage of low income, and released convicts. Even though there are some people that need professional help,There are however, hundreads that this program have helped.

Well said Paul and Brenda. I agree 100%. Some poeple are just going to be malcontent no matter what is given to them. Give 'em a bed and they want a kingsize. Give 'em a meal and they want dessert. Give 'em a free haircut and they don't want to clean it up. I'm very proud of what project TOUCH is doing and Anne is an extraordinary person who has dedicated her life to the cause of conquering homelessness in our community. But of course there are critics...I'd like to see what good 'ole Paul Grindle is doing to help his community in any way. It's so easy to criticize others but if you aren't doing anything to actually help then just shut up or do something about it. What charities are you involved in? When was the last time you donated your time, your resources or your money to a charitable cause? Other than complaining about the goodwill of others, what do you stand for? You sir, are a douche.

Brenda, is there ever a story here that you don't feel the need to comment on? My God...get a life girl.
Paul December 03, 2012 at 10:43 PM
Jay, Since you have no idea of who I am, yet you question my charities? First let me say this, Charity begin at home, that's right I take care of my family first, let me tell you how. I didn't have more kids then I could afford to support. I have never taken a dime for my family, paid for them to go to college, paid for them to go to private schools. So I figure that must be worth thousands of dollars that you didn't have to pay for. Oh by the way I am also in the highest tax bracket so I give to the biggest charity of them all our government, about 40% of my earnings when you factor in all the taxes and fees I pay a year. I also have a child with Autism; guess what, I have never taken a dime for her services I pay for it there is some more money that I don’t take that goes to help those who don’t help themselves. I donate probably more money a year then you make in year, to a couple different Autism centers, but the one charity I give to and I give generously to is the Salvation Army, I have been giving them money and cloths and items for 25 years my friend. No I don’t, donate my time as much as I would like to, but you know what it is because I work a lot of hours so I can support people like you who are quick to criticize people like me because you don't like my opinions, yet in the same breath you call me a douche.

Continued: You know what I do for my community, I shop here, I spend my money with local business, I pay my taxes. I help my neighbors when they need help. What I don't do is encourage drug addict losers who call them self homeless because they purchased home that they couldn't afford in the first place.

I am all for providing a helping hand to those who have fallen on hard times and want help recovering. But if people refuse to help themselves then as far as I am concerned they can starve to death and quit being a burden on our society. Now this would not apply to the mentally ill as they are liekely incapable of helping themselves. I am tired of vagrants making parts of our city look like a slum.

It could happen to anyone of us. One day you may need a hand up.

Chris ..Dude. What about Mohammad ?? he now has 1.2 billion followers on the planet. And remember Mohammad was a 13th. century pedophile.
Galactic Cannibal December 06, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Next to Europe the USA is the world's largest consumer of illegal drugs. Why is this ?? But Europe is the world's largest consumer of legal drugs (booze, nicotine). In these two blocks, live approx. 760,000 people. They are, in combination , the world's most powerful economic and military block. And are 90% WHITE people. PROUD TO BE WHITE...

How dare you call the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him a pedophile. We don't need ignorant people like you in Temecula
TVOR December 11, 2012 at 12:40 AM
Who called him a pedophile? Doesn't marrying a child meet the contemporary definition of a pedophile?
Vicki Vail January 02, 2013 at 08:33 PM
It's sad that so many believe that the homeless, or anyone "below" them, has the means to just simply make things better for themselves. If you found yourself out on the street, no car, no clothes, no job, no bathroom to stay clean, no support, no direction, depression and fear, how would you handle it? Some of the statements above are full of ignorance and self-righteousness.

@Paul most of on here pay taxes too. It is clear to me you don't have much to really give . So hold on tight to what you have for your family . I have a feeling you really need it buddy. I hope you never need anything . We get back in life what we give back. I love giving and will continuing giving to those who need my help and are trying to help their situation. I thank God for the heart he has blessed me with. I pray God touches your mind and heart . You r in need of some major help buddy. God bless
