Thunder, Explosions Coming From Camp Pendleton

The following is the training schedule this week.

The booming, thunder and explosions are loud across Southwest Riverside County this week as troops at Camp Pendleton conduct training exercises using live fire.

The following is the training schedule this week. According to base officials, depending on atmospheric conditions, the explosions can be heard up to 50 miles away.

Wednesday, July 31

 

      -Mortar Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight

      -MICLIC Charge = 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

            Detonating High Explosive munitions at R-600/Whiskey Impact area.

            Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

 

      -Artillery Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight

      -Mortar Fire = 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

            Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

 

      -Artillery Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight

            Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.
