Winchester Road On-Ramps to I-15 Slated for Closure

Winchester Road on-ramps to northbound Interstate 15 in Temecula are scheduled for overnight closures on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29, according to a city official.

Motorists were advised that on-ramps from Winchester Road to northbound Interstate 15 will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 and Tuesday, Jan. 29, according to a Temecula city official.

The closures are necessary in order to conduct survey work for Phase II of the French Valley Interchange project, said Avlin Odviar, project manager for the city of Temecula, which is overseeing construction of the interchange.

The ramps, accessible if heading east or west on Winchester, will be closed one at a time during the aforementioned nights, Odviar said.

Rather than taking a detour route, Odviar said: "When one ramp is closed, drivers should circle back via next available intersection(s) and utilize the open ramp."

Odviar also advised that on the evenings of Wednesday, Feb. 6 and Thursday, Feb. 7, the northbound Interstate 15 connector to Interstate 215 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. The closures are related to the survey work.

"(The) current plan is to detour traffic by continuing on I-15 up to Murrieta Hot Springs Road, then east on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, and back to I-215," Odviar said.
