Winchester Road to Be Spruced Up

The project will cost about $1.2 million and stretch from Nicolas to Roripaugh roads.

Winchester Road was slated for $1.2 million worth of improvements.

The City Council approved a contract Tuesday to repair a stretch running south from Nicolas to Roripaugh roads, according to city records.

As part of the project, the existing pavement will be pulverized, new pavement will be laid down and the stripes and markers will be replaced, according to a city report.

The city got five bids, and contract went to R.J. Noble Company, whose $1,178,654 million bid beat the second lowest by about $100,000.

All American Asphalt bid $1,277,000, Granite Construction bid $1,296,467, Vance Construction bid $1.3 million and Hazard Construction bid $1.6 million.
