Chaparral Student Praises Temecula Government In Letter To Editor

"I can say that with the city council meetings that I have attended, I have seen government even be effective at the local level."

The following is a letter to the editor:

Dear Temecula Patch
I am a senior in high school. I attend Chaparral High School and we are doing a "Participating in Government" project. I am contacting the Temecula Patch and writing a letter to the editor.

Temecula is a great city and, being raised here, I can say we honestly do have a well-to-do community.

We are to address a topic relating to government that has been posted on the website in Temecula Patch. The question was in an open blog, "How open is Temecula's Government?" I can say that with the city council meetings that I have attended, I have seen government even be effective at the local level.

Everyone has their opinions and has opportunities to come to a meeting that is accommodating, open, welcoming and democratic in the sense that everyone can participate and their opinions can be voiced; this allows people to become easily active in government.

In that sense I believe that Temecula's government is effective, efficient and open with providing necessities to our community after listening to the public.

Thank you for your time to read my letter. Have a great day.

Regards,
Stephanie Scull
