The goals of our Children’s Etiquette Program are to:
- Help students feel comfortable in facing new situations and meeting new people.
- To view the table as a conversation-sharing place for family and friends, not just a place to gulp and run.
- To create awareness that dining is like learning the rules of anything (sports, hobbies, etc.). You have to know the rules in order to play a better game.
This is a 7-8 hour class with three “1.5 hour sessions” and a 2.5-3 hour dining event. Classes can be scheduled daily/mid-day for Charter Schools.
In this class children will focus on socialization and dining skills that include:
Social Etiquette:
- Proper Introductions
- Correct Handshake and Eye Contact
- Mannerly Phrases
- Following House Rules and Respecting Property
- Telephone Etiquette and 911 Role Play
- Thank You Notes
Dining Etiquette:
- Napkins
- Utensils, Stemware
- American & Continental Style Dining
