The goals of our Children’s Etiquette Program are to:

  1. Help students feel comfortable in facing new situations and meeting new people.
  2. To view the table as a conversation-sharing place for family and friends, not just a place to gulp and run.
  3. To create awareness that dining is like learning the rules of anything (sports, hobbies, etc.).  You have to know the rules in order to play a better game.

This is a 7-8 hour class with three “1.5 hour sessions” and a 2.5-3 hour dining event.  Classes can be scheduled daily/mid-day for Charter Schools.

In this class children will focus on socialization and dining skills that include:

Social Etiquette:

  • Proper Introductions
  • Correct Handshake and Eye Contact
  • Mannerly Phrases
  • Following House Rules and Respecting Property
  • Telephone Etiquette and 911 Role Play
  • Thank You Notes

Dining Etiquette:

  • Napkins
  • Utensils,  Stemware
  • American & Continental Style Dining
  • Passing Food & Condiments
  • Table Talk
  • The Bread & Butter Plate
  • Soup Savvy
  • Dessert Fork and Spoon
  • Participating in a Toast
  • Do’s and Don’ts of Dining

* Each class day, the children will enjoy a different “Tablescape Theme” to discuss and foster socialization.

*Classes are limited to 7 children.

*  Parents are invited to the dinner for additional dinner fee
