Free Start Smart Driving Class for Teens

The California Highway Patrol will offer a free Start Smart driver education class for teens ages 15-19 and their parents or guardians.

This program includes instruction on the rules of the road, general driving and collision avoidance tips, testimonials from officers who have seen teen fatalities, and related movies and videos such as “Red Asphalt." Discussion topics include the ramifications of under-age drinking and driving, seat belt usage, and specific information for teens recently or about to be licensed.
