Three Great Oak High School students were recognized in the American Legion's Post 852 annual speech competition.
Marianne Dang, Karoline Kitlowski and Alex Dang placed first, second and fourth respectively.
The students wrote and performed an 8-10 minute oration on an aspect of the U.S. Constitution as well as a 3-5 minute impromptu speech on four different articles of the Constitution.
As the top winner, Marianne will move on to the district level to be held in Perris on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.
