Report Ranks Temecula Schools High for Serving Latino, Black, and Low-Income Students

The following is a news release from the Temecula Valley Unified School District:

The Education Trust – West District Report Card grades and ranks the 149 largest, unified districts in California based on how well they are serving African-American, Latino and low-income students.

Each district is graded and ranked on four key indicators of student performance: overall performance, improvement over a five-year period, the size of achievement gaps, and college readiness. The letter grades (A through F) earned on each of these indicators is then averaged into an overall letter grade.

This year, Temecula Valley Unified School District is ranked in the Top 10 overall districts and earned an overall grade of B- and As for the performance of the district’s low-income students and students of color, as well as for the district’s high graduation rate for students of color.

The district has been in the Top 10 Overall Districts all four years The Education Trust – West has put out the report card.
