Temecula Preparatory School Moving Forward With Charter Revision

The next step for TPS is an Oct. 1 public hearing on the matter to consider the level of support for the petition by the district teachers, employees and parents.

During Tuesday night’s Temecula Valley Unified School District’s governing board meeting, Temecula Preparatory School received the good news that a material revision to its charter petition was approved.

The next step for TPS is an Oct. 1 public hearing on the matter to consider the level of support for the petition by the district teachers, employees and parents. The meeting will be held at district headquarters, 31350 Rancho Vista Road.

The governing board already approved the school’s renewal petition in November. However, the school requested a material revision due to fact that TPS changed its corporate operator from Temecula Preparatory School to Heritage Classical Charter Schools of America last month.

Tuesday's approval by the TVUSD governing board came on the heels of bad news out of Menifee. TPS was hoping for a second campus in that city, but on Aug. 13 the Menifee Union School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to reject the petition. Click here for more on that story.
